Ride Like Crazy 2012

Members of the South Australia Police swapped their blues for lyrca yesterday to raise funds for cancer research, prevention and treatment.

Ride Like Crazy 2012 took place on Sunday 15 January. Nearly 2000 Riders set off from Unley and Woodside to participate in the ride which takes in all take in the undulating Adelaide Hills.

For more photographs of the event go to the SA Police New Facebook page: www.facebook.com.au/sapolicenewsThe ride has three challenging distances ranging from 53 to 109 kms catering for different riding abilities, and all finish at the Unley Oval where there were festivities, music and refreshments to be enjoyed.

The event has gone from strength to strength since it began in 2009 after Senior Sergeant Mick Koener, a member of the SAPOL's STAR Group, was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Monies raised from Ride Like Crazy 2012 will continue to help the fight against cancer with all profits supporting the Neurosurgical Research Foundation and the Flinders Medical Centre Foundation.

Woman armed with scissors robs store

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at Smokemart on Tapleys Hill Road, Seaton.

At about 2.30am on Thursday 10 May, a young woman entered the store armed with scissors, threatened the staff member and stole cash.
