Operation Consequence results

Forty-seven motorists lost their driver's licence and 41 vehicles were impounded or had their wheels clamped for 28 days following a state wide operation targeting drink and drug drivers overnight.

SAPOL conducted Phase V of Operation Consequence, targeting drink and drug drivers, between 6pm on Saturday 11 February and 6.30am Sunday morning.

More than 220 police officers were involved in both static and mobile driver testing activities across the state.

During the testing period, 6226 tests were conducted with a total of 75 drink driving and 7 drug related offences detected.

The highest reading occurred at Park Terrace, Bowden, when a 27-year-old female driver who held a Probationary licence recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.232.

Woman armed with scissors robs store

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at Smokemart on Tapleys Hill Road, Seaton.

At about 2.30am on Thursday 10 May, a young woman entered the store armed with scissors, threatened the staff member and stole cash.
