Road fatality at Mount Gambier

Sadly there has been a second fatality on our State's roads this morning this time at Mount Gambier.

Just after 9am an elderly man was using a gopher to cross the Jubilee Highway West when he was struck by a truck.

The 89-year-old Mount Gambier man was rushed to the local Mount Gambier Hospital but sadly died a short time later.

Major Crash Investigators are flying to Mount Gambier to investigate.

Motorists are advised the Jubilee Highway West will be closed to traffic for several hours between Wehl Street and Suttontown Road at Mt Gambier.

The road toll now stands at 11 compared to 20 at the same time last year.
